    Quick Facts

    • Make sure you carry a pair of binoculars if possible as the area is home to many species of birds who make the serene surroundings near the dam come alive with their songs. Engage the local fishermen in conversation, and see how they use the reservoir for fishing.
    • Visit the Mahadeva Temple in Kurdi on the banks of the Salaulim River.. The construction of the dam threatened the temple; hence it was dismantled object by object and stone by stone and reconstructed at this place providing similar topographical setting. The new temple resembles the old structure just as it was in the 11th century.
