    Located to the south of Colva beach in South Goa, Benaulim is a golden beach shaded with tall coconut trees along the coastline. It is believed that the region was formed when Lord Parashuram fired his arrow which landed on the area, a mythological lore.

    Getting there

    The railway station at Margao is 5 kms away while the Dabolim airport is 27 kms away and easily accessible via prepaid taxis and auto rickshaws. Benaulim is a small cosy place and can be easily explored on foot or by hiring private vehicles. The capital city of Panaji 36 kms away and Mapusa is at a distance of 46 kms from Benaulim.

    • St. John the Baptist church, an old Portuguese church built in 1596 is located on the Monte Hill of Benaulim and is a beautiful architecture with its large domes and antique rustic look. It is numbered among the most popular churches in Goa.
