    An ideal place for sunbathing, swimming and lazing around, Agonda beach is a calm pristine beach that has a long stretch of palm trees and is dominated by a large hill on the south. It is also famous as a nesting site for the rare Olive Ridley turtles.

    Getting there

    Agonda beach is a 15 minute drive away from the famed Palolem beach. The closest railway stations are at Margao and Canacona. The beach is a 20 minute drive from Canacona station. The Dabolim airport is 62 kms away and has a prepaid taxi service. There are regular buses that depart from the Canacona bus station for Agonda. Buses to Agonda from Margao (37 kms) are also available a few times a day.

    • The endangered species of Olive Ridley turtles use Agonda beach as a nesting site. Initiatives have been taken up by the local village to ensure that Agonda retains its tranquility and cleanliness and preserve the area for the future generation.
